Kalshi Just Built a Live Dashboard for the Midterms. Most Visitors Won’t Place a Single Bet

Kalshi launched a Midterms Hub on Wednesday that aggregates prediction-market odds, polling averages, candidate fundraising reports, historical election results, and curated news for Senate, House, and gubernatorial races, all in one place ahead of November. The company said roughly 75% of visitors to the platform never actually place a trade, arriving solely to check where contracts are priced. A prediction market building its highest-profile new product specifically around visitors who won’t generate any trading revenue is what NewsTrackerToday traces to as the more interesting business bet than the hub’s feature list.

Kalshi CEO and co-founder Tarek Mansour framed the product as a neutral alternative to conventional political coverage, arguing that prediction markets “cut through polarization and show you what the wisdom of the crowds actually believes, backed by real money, not rhetoric.” Contracts wagering on which party will control the House and Senate after November have already generated more than $30 million in trading volume on Kalshi alone, with nearly $200 million placed across both Kalshi and rival platform Polymarket combined.

Liam Anderson reads the traffic-to-revenue gap as a deliberate acquisition strategy rather than a missed monetization opportunity: “A hub built mainly for browsers, not traders, functions as a lead-generation funnel. Most visitors checking odds today aren’t Kalshi customers yet, but showing them live, real-money-backed data next to polling averages is exactly how a platform converts curiosity into an eventual account. That 75% non-trading figure isn’t a weakness Kalshi is disclosing reluctantly, it’s the whole point of the product.” That funnel logic, more than the trading volume already generated, is what NewsTrackerToday weighs into as the real strategic purpose behind this specific launch.

The hub arrives after a period of rapid growth for Kalshi, which added 3 million new users during the 2026 FIFA World Cup and closed a $1 billion Series F round at a $22 billion valuation. Earlier this year, the company also rolled out an “American Power Index,” a political tracker styled after a stock market index to gauge each party’s standing over time, part of a broader pattern of Kalshi building political-data products well beyond simple betting contracts.

Daniel Wu, who covers geopolitics and energy, reads the regulatory friction surrounding this specific expansion: “A congressional probe into insider trading on prediction markets is already underway, and Wisconsin’s election commission has separately warned residents that betting on a race they’re eligible to vote in may be illegal and could jeopardize their ballot. Kalshi’s own legal counsel called that warning unconstitutional and urged the commission to withdraw it before litigation forces the issue. That’s a genuinely unresolved legal question sitting directly underneath a product Kalshi is actively promoting to a mainstream audience right now.” That unresolved legal exposure, more than the hub’s launch itself, is what News Tracker Today circles round as the real risk sitting under this expansion.

Kalshi’s push into election markets rests on a 2024 court ruling that found wagering on federal races legal, a precedent the company has leaned on as it’s expanded its political product lineup steadily over the past two years.

None of this resolves whether Wisconsin’s specific warning to voter-bettors reflects a genuine legal risk or an overreach Kalshi will successfully beat back in court, and the congressional insider-trading probe remains ongoing with no announced timeline for conclusions. Whether the Midterms Hub converts enough of its non-trading visitors into active accounts to justify the resources behind it, or whether the regulatory questions swirling around election betting slow this expansion before November arrives, is what NewsTrackerToday lands with as the real test facing this product over the next few months.
